The Amber Navy is huge. However, only a small percentage of it is in Amber at any given time, the rest being spread throughout the shadows of the Golden Circle and beyond. The fighting ships of the Amber Navy are mostly large metal-hulled clipper-like vessels, armed with rams, catapults and ballistae, though there are wooden-hulled ships used too, for certain duties. Amber - a white unicorn on a green ground.In the recent militarization projects authorized by the King Benedict has been spreading the Amber Navy out into realms never before attempted. While many detail are militay secrets it is known that at least two worlds in the Gun Age technological range have been brought into the Amber fold, as has one space traveling universe. The basic belief is that these were already worlds under Benedict's control and he merely issued them new uniforms and restructured the Chain of Command.
In General, the militarization of Amber is a hot topic of gossip but it is believed Benedict is developing a Tech based structure using the following classifications: Sword Age, Gun Age, Spell Age, Laser Age, Space Age, Whip Age, & Black Age.
Some ships of the Amber Navy are named after members of the Royal family, or the
noble houses of Amber. Others are not. The following is a sample of names in use (HMS is, of course, His Majesty's Ship):
